Approval of the application form and procedures for obtaining financial support for tourism related projects

On 13.10.2016, the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship adopted an order (ORDER No. 8136 “On the approval of the application form and procedures for obtaining financial support for tourism related projects ”) according to which in order to strengthen the competitiveness, sustainability and expansion of the tourism sector in Albania all interested entities that meet the criteria specified on the form are urged to submit proposals concerning:

1- The promotion of tourist attractions and the hospitality industry through media and innovative activities;

2- The development and improvement of specific tourist products, in line with growing demand for local tourism packages that offer unusual experiences with surprises and stimulating ideas.

Funding for implementation of the winning projects will cover up to 50% of the accepted and approved costs by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship. For projects that will require funding over 50%, approval will be made by the Council of Ministers with a new decision. The funds available for this call for proposal is 22,000,000 leke and funding from the state budget can not be given more than once a year for the same competing subject.
