Decisions of the Energy Regulatory Authority related to the electricity market

On 19.1.2017, the Energy Regulatory Authority approved several decisions for the initiation of procedures related to the electricity market.

Firstly, ERE having examined the report of technical departments regarding the initiation of the procedure for the approval of “Rules of the Albanian electricity market” and “Agreement on participation in the organized stock market of electricity”, approved Decision no.1 by which it initiates the procedure for examination and approval of rules of the Albanian Electricity Market.

Secondly, ERE approved Decision no. 2 through which decided to initiate procedures for the evaluation and approval of the draft agreement on participation in the electricity market.

By Decision no.3, ERE decides to begin procedures for evaluating and approving the draft regulation on financial guarantees of participants for the registration in the electricity market.

In addition, ERE approves decision no. 4 according to which decides to initiate procedures for evaluating and approving the draft regulation for the registration procedure in the electricity market.

In conclusion, by decision No. 7 of the same date ERE approves some changes in the ” Temporary rules of the Albanian electricity market ” where it is important to note that ERE will approve regulated prices for generating units charged with the public service obligation, until the creation of the balancing market or otherwise provided by other acts of ERE.

For all the above, the Judicial and Consumer Protection is obliged to notify interested parties on the decisions of the Board of ERE.
